The Interfaith Committee seeks to build understanding and community among people of different faiths and religious traditions. Through dialogue with members of other faith communities, we explore ways our St. Ignatius Community and theirs can learn more about each other’s faith beliefs and traditions, create opportunities for our communities to learn and pray together and work collaboratively in pursuit of social and economic justice for the members of our local and wider communities.
Annually St. Ignatius Church hosts a New Year’s Eve Interfaith Prayer Celebration. In 2026 we will celebrate the 34th year of gathering together with our Jewish, Christian, Muslim and Buddhist brothers and sisters to offer prayers of praise and thanksgiving to God.February 1, 2026: Purple Ribbon Remembrance Ceremony
Prayer service remembering those who died as a result of gun violence during 2025 in Baltimore City. The Purple Ribbons with the victim’s name hung on the outside of First & Franklin’s church walls each month during 2025 will be retired.
